PRESS RELEASE - THE WOMAN TONE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (6th July 2022)
Following its lineage of effect pedals recreating specific tones of the 60’s bands, Aclam has developed the ultimate overdrive pedal for those fans of Cream and Eric Clapton’s fabulous sound heard on songs like Sunshine Of Your Love, I Feel Free or SWLABR just to name a few.
The Woman Tone features an extremely touch sensitive plexi style overdrive, designed with F.E.T transistors and tuned to roar like the 100W Marshall full stacks Cream used, but definitely the cherry on the cake of this pedal is the Woman Tone knob. By turning it counter-clockwise you’ll gradually get that silky sound he attained with his Gibson while soloing. It is engaged via a footswitch so the guitar players can switch from on sound to the other without the need to reach any control with their hands.
"After watching Cream’s “Farewell Concert” We were stunned by how awesome and groundbreaking Clapton's tone was, so we decided to challenge ourselves and create a pedal packing his broken overdrive and the unique Woman Tone trick. We're thrilled Marijke agreed to create the graphics too!”"
[Marc Sospedra, Aclam's effect pedal designer]
The Woman Tone’s artwork is signed by no one that Marijke Koger, the artist who handpainted Eric’s famous Gibson SG nicknamed “The Fool” in recognition of the artistic collective she was part of.

Since we wanted to pay tribute to Cream both from the inside and outside, we decided to reach out to the artist who painted the art on Eric Clapton’s “The Fool” Gibson SG, which became most iconic guitars in history. We got lucky enough to get Marijke Koger, former leader of the art collective The Fool (which the guitar takes its name) to design the artwork of The Woman Tone pedal. Marijke’s amazing work illustrates the essence of the Woman Tone.

"I enjoyed decorating the woman tone pedal very much, with the intent to capturing the same spirit as that guitar. It has a wonderful and warm sound. The enclosed tarot card is a nice special tribute to Eric Clapton’s fool SG, that I painted for him in 1967, at manager Robert Stigwood’s request. Well done Aclam"
[Marijke Koger, artist]
Aclam’s boutique guitar and bass pedals are created by a small team using the best components available to ensure reliability and sound quality. Our vintage-inspired effects pedals are built one by one and our entire manufacturing process is done in Barcelona ensuring every pedal is played and QC checked by a musician in our headquarters.
Our methodology to achieve this goal is quite straightforward, we invest some time researching and replicating the exact sound of a specific device, which had been used in the past by some band or recognized musician and add the “Aclam touch” all over it.
