Pensa Guitars are handbuilt in New York and played by artists such as Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton & Lou Reed.
Rudy Pensa is the owner of the legendary New York Soho Store, Rudy's Music.
A charismatic New Yorker of Argentine descent, Rudy Pensa has run his legendary NY Soho store since 1978, selling guitars to the biggest names in the business, including Eric Clapton, Lou Reed, Peter Frampton, Lenny Kravitz and many others. However Rudy isn't your run-of-the-mill music store owner; his passion for instruments and art, not to mention his extensive knowledge, saw him developing his own unique line of guitars.
As Rudy told us recently when he dropped into Aclam, it all began when Mark Knopfler dreamed up a guitar based on his famous stratocaster with a Les Paul style archtop design. Little did Rudy know that Knopfler would adopt this guitar as his main axe, creating one of the most iconic guitars in rock n roll history.
Rudy and Aclam CEO Jordi Canivell have been good friends for years, leading to the distribution of Pensa guitars in Europe to the delight of musicians and collectors on the hunt for truly unique guitars.
