We know most of you are keen on films, as well as guitar enthusiasts, so we asked our Instagram followers to vote for the best movies about music. Thanks to the recent success of Queen’s biopic, it seems that this genre has recently begun a tendency, but there are many other movies that talk about bands and musicians which are worth having a look at.

From best to worst, according to your answers, we will go through a list of the best 28 music-related movies of all time. Some have reached an iconic status, others haven’t had so much repercussion, but there is definitely hours of entertainment here.

We love all the films that have been mentioned, but we would probably add up Walk the Line if asked if we are missing one!

Without further ado, behold the list of top music movies chosen by you:

1. Wayne’s World (1992) - 94%

Comedy, music

"Wayne is still living at home. He has a world class collection of name tags from jobs he's tried, but he does have his own public access TV show. A local station decides to hire him and his sidekick, Garth, to do their show professionally and Wayne & Garth find that it is no longer the same. Wayne falls for a bass guitarist and uses his and Garth's Video contacts to help her career along, knowing that Ben Oliver, the sleazy advertising guy who is ruining their show will probably take her away from him if they fail." 2. Pink Floyd: The Wall (1982) - 91%

Animation, Drama, Fantasy

"Rock star Pink Floyd is a tortured soul. Because of his childhood, he has always tried to make meaningful emotional connections to other living creatures. That childhood includes not having a male role model with his father having been killed in the war, his overprotective mother smothering him, and an oppressive school system quashing his natural creativity. Being a rock star, he is often wanted more because of what he is than who he is. The most recent failure in that true connection to someone or something else is his marriage, when on tour, he discovers that his wife back home is cheating on him. His response is to go in the opposite direction, by building a figurative wall around him to isolate himself from the rest of the world, but not before showing graphically his feelings on different gut levels. The question becomes if he or anyone else can do anything to tear down the wall in a meaningful way." (Storyline from imdb.com I Written by Huggo) Know more

He shares an apartment with an old band member, Ned Schneebly, who is now a substitute teacher. Dewey accepts a job as a substitute teacher at a snobbish private elementary school where his attitude and hijinx have a powerful result on his students. He learns they are talented young musicians, and he decides to form a rock band with them to win the $10,000 prize money in a local band contest. Once Dewey wins a competition called "Battle of the Bands", the prize money would solve his financial problems and put him back in the rock music spotlight."
